Our Mission & Vision
The Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program is an organization dedicated to increasing and enhancing pro bono legal services to the poor in Dallas through the recruitment, training, and support of volunteer attorneys. The Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program is a joint program of the Dallas Bar Association and Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas created in 1997 when both organizations merged their previously separate pro bono programs to create one cohesive effort to address the legal needs of the poor in Dallas.
Clients & Cases
All DVAP Clients must meet strict financial eligibility guidelines to receive help. The Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program provides legal help to low-income clients with the following types of cases:
- Expunctions & Non-disclosures
- Real Property
DVAP does not help with criminal cases, tickets, or fee-generating cases such as personal injury matters.
