-
- How did you first get involved with pro bono?
I staffed the DVAP evening intake clinics back in the mid-90s when I first began practicing law. Back then, we were together in person when we took calls, and it was always a fun and rewarding way to give back to the community.
-
- Which clinics have you assisted with?
Currently my Bradley colleagues and I staff intake for the Virtual Veterans Legal Clinic the first Friday of every month.
-
- Describe your most compelling pro bono case.
Honestly, every DVAP call that I take is compelling, and inspires me to do more. My most recent in-depth work was to help a local charity take organizational steps necessary to allow them to continue their work on behalf of the homeless population in our community.
-
- Why do you do pro bono?
Bradley is committed the Dallas community, and as a leader in the Bradley Dallas office, I think it’s important to set a good example for our younger lawyers, encouraging them to use their legal talents to advance the interests not only of our clients, but also of the broader community in which we live and work.
-
- What is the most unexpected benefit you have received from doing pro bono?
Friendships! Getting involved in pro bono work of any type puts you in contact with incredible human beings who prioritize helping others. Who wouldn’t want to be around folks like that?!
